Blight

  • Shift priority to rehabbing and abating nuisance properties and putting them back into productive use

  • Continue blight removal with ARPA dollars and search/apply for alternative funding sources

  • Establish companion civil offenses for wrongdoers – enforce those offenses in court

  • Strengthen nuisance abatement ordinance to allow city to take prompt action regarding blighted properties

  • Work with local nonprofits to renovate public nuisance properties through Ohio’s receivership law

  • Utilize CDBG funding to promote housing development and rehabilitation

  • Create new focus on resident and neighborhood engagement; (It is not enough to just have neighborhood presidents at the table; we need ALL hands on deck).

  • Make productive use of the new green spaces created by demolition
