Education 

  • Make it more difficult for failing charter schools to operate in the City of Dayton 

  • Expand options for a city/DPS youth works program 

  • Establish new apprenticeship programs between DPS and City of Dayton 

  • Create new fellowship programs for local college students to work at City Hall in an effort to retain local talent

  • Establish a committee of parents, teachers, city staff, students, and administrators to monitor progress of DPS’ 2022-27 strategic plan 

  • Form the new Dayton Youth Council which will regularly meet, interact with city staff and elected officials, and make policy recommendations

  • Provide city-owned property to DPS to help with bussing issues and advocate at the state level for a permanent solution and fair funding for public schools
